Meet the Team
Steve Nelson, DDS, MBA
Dentist

It is rewarding to have the ability to improve your smile and help you feel better. Truth be told, Dr. Nelson was scared of his dentist as a child and it has been our mission here to alleviate those same apprehensions for each patient.
Graduating in 2011 at the world-renown Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. This university has trained Dr. Nelson to be accomplished in all-things dental from comprehensive dental planning, esthetics, crowns and fillings, root canals, extractions, dentures and implants.

He first started working in community health centers in Macomb, Illinois and Grants Pass. These environments provided crucial experience in treating a myriad of complications not regularly seen in private practice. Dr. Nelson continues to travel all over the world providing dental humanitarian services to third-world countries. Locally he has supported the local Kid Time Museum in creating a dental exhibit for children to experience dentistry in a fun environment and is also the official dentist of the Miss Oregon Volunteer Pageant.
Dr. Nelson looks forward to being your dentist for many decades in Central Point.

My goal is to make your dental visit comfortable and enjoyable especially if you have had negative dental experiences before coming to our dental practice.
Your smile is our priority. --Dr. Nelson

Dental Assistant

I am newer to the dental world. I am a dental assistant and my goal is to start my prerequisites for hygiene school once I get all my dental assisting certification done. I love being in the dental field and am so excited to further my education and career. Outside of work I love to spend time with my family. I especially love to be outdoors or in the gym weightlifting.
Hannah Ellson
Dental Hygienist
I have recently joined the Central Point Family Dentistry team AGAIN! I started out at CPFD when I was interning to be a dental assistant in 2016. I was placed into the office by RCC's dental assisting program and later became employed at the office making lifelong friends, connections and gaining skills. While working at CPFD as an assistant, I continued my prerequisites to become a hygienist. Dr. Nelson even helped me write my personal statement to get into hygiene school and guided me with the process of applying! I graduated with my Bachelor of Dental Hygiene at Pacific University in 2020 and moved back to Southern Oregon after graduation. Here I am, back at the office serving the same welcoming population and spending time with the people I made such special relationships with in 2016! I love dental hygiene because it gives me the chance to educate patients on oral health and prevention and help patients feel confident about their smile and health. Before starting in dentistry, I knew very little about oral health. My goal is to pass on tools to help patients succeed in a way that fits their lifestyle. To me, there's nothing like easing a patient's anxiety and helping them feel comfortable and less nervous about their dental visits. Can't wait to meet you!
Laura Ambrosini
Dental Hygienist
I am a new Oregon resident. I have been in the dental industry since 2011. I earned a dental assisting license from Butte County Regional Occupational Program and then later expanded my dental knowledge with a Dental Hygiene Degree from Shasta College. As a dental hygienist I pride myself on patient education and outstanding patient care. I am very excited about my new home at Central Point Family Dentistry and am excited to meet you!
Mandy Walden
Office Manager
I started in dentistry as an office manager in 2003 and shortly after received my dental assistant/radiology certification so I was cross trained to help in all aspects of the dental office. What I love most about my job is the relationship I have been able to build with our patients. Outside of work I like spending time on the water boating with my family or watching my children in their different sports.
Mel Baldridge
Dental Assistant

My name is Melissa, most of my friends and family call me Mel. I’ve been a dental assistant going on 10 years this year. I am married to my high school sweet heart and have 2 girls. In my free time some of my favorite things to do include gardening, hiking or anything outdoors, cooking, making natural household products with essential oils, and all the DIY things. I also have a lot of houseplants I am very passionate about and enjoy propagating and helping others with their plants. At work I strive to make patients comfortable in what is normally an uncomfortable place to be. I look forward to caring for your dental needs alongside the Central Point Family Dentistry team.
